Video of Pong

This game is much simpler than games of today as it has no complex shapes. Though like modern games, Pong is simply the same thing over and over again, just in a simpler form.

Will, I remember when this game first became available to play at home on your tv. My uncle had it and I remember being disappointed when playing it because it wasn't really hard and kind of boring. The games at the arcades were more fun to play. But Pong did usher in the home video game phase, so it was important in that aspect.
ReplyDeleteI used to play pong with my friend in high school. Her parents found their old pong game and hooked up to an old black-and-white tv in their basement. We would sit there for hours while the small white dot went back and forth across the screen. The only sound was a beep when the paddle hit the bouncing dot. Even in the 90’s, with all the different games there were, we still enjoyed playing Pong.
ReplyDeletePong??? I question what where the intentions of this game. It seems that people wanted just something new. This was a game that spark everything to what it is now. I never played pong, but my dad did and he enjoyed it rather than the games nowadays. Pong was simple and games now are complex so they "scare" my dad. lol
ReplyDeletePong is similar to tetris. It just keeps your focus long enough to keep you mildly entertained. Its just enough to distract you from your Intg Knowledge class homework.
ReplyDeleteWill, I remember when Pong came out. We thought it was the greatest thing in the world. It is definitely not as exciting or colorful as games are today. We thought it was exciting though. We did not know at the time what future video games would evolve into. This was a very interesting post. Mary Ann Reday.
